2024 Woman of Inspiration & Woman to Watch

The Woman of Inspiration and Woman to Watch Awards, determined and awarded by WISE chapters, honor women in chapter markets who exemplify the spirit of the WISE mission and are making a positive impact on the business of sports while serving as positive role models and mentors for other women. Thayer Lavielle, Executive Vice President of The Collective at Wasserman, was named the 2024 Woman of Inspiration. Allison Gupton, Director of Baseball Administration at USA Baseball, was named the 2024 Woman to Watch.

Coaching Workshop: Own Who You Are

WISE GR member and certified Cognitive Behavioral Life & Executive Coach, Kristin Frade, led a transformative night of leaning into our strengths and leaving comparison behind. A few of our key takeaways: 

  • Find projects or volunteer work to use your natural strengths to beat burnout and feel more satisfied 😌
  • Use belief cards to rewire your brain and empower growth 📈
  • When you get a compliment, accept it! Thank you 🤐
  • Be okay with disappointing people. By saying no, you may open up an opportunity for someone else 🚪

WISE Wellness: Outdoor Yoga

WISE GR members gathered for a morning outdoor yoga flow at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The WISE Wellness event included a 45-minute flow + unwind session, followed by breakfast and networking.

Speed Mentoring Roundtables

WISE Greater Raleigh hosted its annual Speed Mentoring Roundtables. The signature event gave attendees a seat at the table with some of the Triangle's top female leaders across the sports industry to discuss career and professional development topics in an intimate setting. 

Movie Night: AIR

WISE GR rolled out the red carpet to host a private screening of the new movie AIR, the story of the game-changing partnership between Michael Jordan and Nike that revolutionized the world with the Air Jordan brand. 

Power Play: Women Who Negotiate

WISE Greater Raleigh hosted its annual Power Play Panel, featuring Women who Negotiate. The signature event brought together women from across the sports industry to share their expertise in negotiating.

2023 Woman of Inspiration & Woman to Watch

Ashley Bratcher, General Manager of National Teams at USA Baseball, was named the 2023 Woman of Inspiration. Sarah Antonelli, Girls and Women's Hockey Specialist at the Carolina Hurricanes, was named the 2023 Woman to Watch.

The amazing Sarah O'Grady, Molly Sapienza, Barbara Sharnak, and Heather Kashner provided WISE Greater Raleigh with an inspired panel discussion. The topics included their careers in sports & entertainment, particularly as it pertains to working on the brand side of the industry.

Pre-Game Leadership Lesson

The ladies of WISE teamed up with the Bee Hive featuring NBA Charlotte Hornets Women Executives for our Pre-Game Leadership Lesson. Our guest speakers included: Kate Barnes, Director of Strategic Initiatives & Innovation, Rhonda Curry, Vice President of Human Resources, and Liz Rackoff, Senior Director of Marketing.
